Day 1: Arrival to Havana

Arrive at the international airport Havana. Transfer to the Hotel Comodoro.

Day 2: Havana
At 10:30 am you will be met by our colleague in the lobby of your hotel in Havana. You will be given the itinerary and the description of the travel program with some notes we have written especially for you. Accommodation: Hotel Comodoro.

Day 3: Havana ‐ Varadero (Bus: 2 hours)

Today’s trip is 2 hours long and upon your arrival in Varadero you will be rewarded with wonderful white sandy beaches. The whole journey is just a very special experience offering scenery of the Cuban coastal region. On the way there, you will cross the bridge “Puente de Bacunayagua” with its spectacular views of the Valle Yumur. Accommodation: Hotel Villa Tortuga.

Day 4: Varadero

Relax by the gorgeous beaches of Varadero and spend some free time swimming or doing water sports. Apart from being famous for its long clean beaches, Varadero is a lively tourist area offering many amenities such as restaurants, shops, night spots, etc.
Accommodation: Hotel Villa Tortuga.

Day 5: Varadero ‐ Trinidad (Bus: 6 hours)

Today, we travel to Trinidad – a city founded in1513 by Diego Valazquez and is considered to be one of Cuba’s main attractions. It used to be one of the most important Spanish strongholds in their fight for America. Today, it is a lovely colonial town that had its hey‐day in the 18th century – the period of the slave trade and the sugar cane industry.
Accommodation: Hotel Las Cuevas or Finca Maria Dolores.

Day 6: Trinidad

We suggest you plan your day to explore this charming Cuban city. Trinidad offers many little restaurants, cafes, mesons or paladares that serve typical local food. The city is also an exciting place for a night out with live Cuban music on every corner.
Accommodation: Hotel Las Cuevas or Finca Maria Dolores.

Day 7: Trinidad – Santiago de Cuba (Bus: 12 hours)

This part of the journey will take you to Santiago de Cuba, the second largest city on the island. Upon arrival you will have some time to explore the city. For over 5 centuries Parque Cespendes has been Santiago’s centre and everyone’s meeting point. The pompous yellow cathedral was built in its present form in 1922 and your hotel will be in the city center. Accommodation: Hotel Las Américas.

Day 8: Santiago de Cuba

In the morning you can go for a walk in the city of Santiago de Cuba. Take a peek into the renovated Castillo del Morro, a 17th century fortress, where the rebels were held prisoners during the Wars of Independence, or pop down to the museum Moncada, former 19th century barracks which now house a primary school and a remarkable Museum of Cuban History. Also, you can take a taxi and drive to Playa Juragua and spend a day swimming and sunbathing.

Day 9: Santiago de Cuba ‐ Baracoa (Bus: 4.5 hours)

This part of the journey will take you to Baracoa in the province of Guantánamo. The first colonists founded this city in 1512. If you are travelling by taxi, you will pass the Mirador de Malones, a hill in the city where you can see the whole of the US marine base of Guantánamo.
Accommodation: Hotel El Castillo or Hotel Porto Santo.

Day 10: Baracoa

You can spend the day exploring this romantic town. We highly recommend visiting the Catedral de Nuestra Senora de Asución, where you can see the Cruz de Parra – a wooden cross, which was brought by Christopher Columbus. You can also opt for a trip into the countryside and take a boat ride on Cuba’s deepest river – Río Toa. Accommodation: Hotel El Castillo or Hotel Porto Santo.

Day 11: Baracoa ‐ Santiago de Cuba (Bus: 4.5 hours)

Today, you will return to Santiago de Cuba. Accommodation: Hotel Las Américas.

Day 12: Santiago de Cuba ‐ Holguin (Bus: 3.5 hours)

Today, in the afternoon you will travel to Holguín where the cultural and musical Cuban traditions are kept carefully. The most important sight is the spacious Plaza Calixto García, dominated by pink and green marble as well as by the statue of the famous general Calixto Iñiguez García.
Accommodation: Hotel Villa el Bosque.
Breakfast

Day 13: Holguin ‐ Havana (Bus: 10.5 hours)

Today is at your disposal. Wander around in Holguín or plan a trip to the dreamlike beaches of nearby Guardalavaca. Also, you can visit the archaeological site Chorro de Maita ‐ a very well preserved cemetery of the indigenous population of the “Arahuaca” culture. In the evening, you board the coach back to Havana (overnight on board the coach).

Day 14: Departure

You will reach Havana in the morning and have the rest of the day at your disposal. Later on the transfer will take you to the airport in Havana in time for your departure flight.
