Geography

Cuba is the largest and most densely populated island in the Caribbean. It lies at the mouth of the Gulf of Mexico, between Yucatan in the West, Florida in the North, Bahamas in the East and Jamaica in the South. Cuba is the largest island of the Greater Antilles. Its 7000 km of coastline include numerous white sandy beaches with lush vegetation that are so perfect for relaxing and bathing. Picturesque colonial towns are treasures of Cuba's cultural heritage and great places of interest.

Flora & Fauna

More than 8000 varieties of plants and numerous species of animals are found in Cuba. The dazzling underwater world is represented in about 900 types of fish. Furthermore there are 350 species of birds, 185 species of butterflies and over 1000 species of insects. The wild mangrove forests in the South host a wide array of water birds, whereas in the northern region there are a large number of flamingo colonies.

Climate & Temperature

A mild subtropical climate with moderate warm temperatures makes Cuba a favorite destination all year round. The average temperature is 25°C. The temperature varies depending on the season, so that the drier winter season (November to April) is generally more pleasant than the humid summer season (May to October).
