Day 1: Arrival in Havana

Arrival in Havana and transfer (optional) to Hotel Plaza in “Habana Vieja”. Accommodation and dinner at the Hotel Plaza.

Day 2: Havana – Santa Clara

Sightseeing tour through the Havana historical center, where you will have lunch in a restaurant as well. In the afternoon you will return to the hotel and travel to Santa Clara. Overnight accommodation and dinner will be at the Hotel Los Caneyes.

Day 3: Santa Clara – Hanabanilla – El Nicho

After breakfast, we will start the 1st hiking tour from the Hotel Hanabanilla with an intermediate degree of difficulty. The walk finishes at Lago Hanabanilla from where you will be taken by boat to Río Negro for lunch. Accommodation and dinner at the Hotel Los Helechos.

Day 4: Parque Codina

We start the 2nd hiking tour (approx. 10km long, intermediate degree of difficulty) in the Parque Codina. Lunch and dinner at the Hacienda Codina. Overnight accommodation in country houses in the Parque Codina area.

Day 5: Parque Guanayara – Topes de Collantes

We start the 3rd hiking tour in the Parque Guanayara and head towards Topes de Collantes. (15 km long, intermediate degree of difficulty). Once we arrive at the Hacienda de la Gallega, we can start the “Centinelas del Río Melodioso” walk and go swimming in the crystal clear waters of Posa del Venado. Dinner at the Casa de la Gallega, overnight accommodation in country houses in the  Parque Gunayara area (5 km).

Day 6: Topes de Collantes – Mi Retiro - Trinidad

The 4th hiking tour (9km long, intermediate degree of difficulty) takes us along the Salto del Caburni – Vegas Grande – Mi Retiro footpath. We will arrive in Salto del Caburni, declared Cuban natural reserve. Here you have enough time to take a quick dip before we continue to Salto de Vegas Grande. Light lunch in Mi Retiro. In the afternoon you will be joining a bus trip to Trinidad. Accommodation and dinner will be at Hotel Costa Sur.

Day 7: Trinidad - Bayamo

Today we have planned a sightseeing tour through Trinidad. You’ll visit the Museo Romántico de Trinidad and drink a typical cocktail in "La Canchanchara”. After that, we will travel to Bayamo (460 km). Lunch-break is planned for Camagüey, and after lunch you continue to Bayamo. Accommodation and dinner will be at the Hotel Sierra Maestra.

Day 8: Bayamo – El Saltón

You’ll have a bus journey to Contramaestre. Here we begin our 5th hiking tour which leads us to the Hotel El Saltón (3 km). The path goes through coffee and cocoa plantations, as well as Sierra Maestra farming villages (intermediate degree of difficulty). It finishes at the waterfalls near the Hotel El Saltón where you will have lunch and still have some free time to swim in the waterfalls’ natural pools. Accommodation and dinner are going to be at the Hotel El Saltón.

Day 9: El Saltón – Villa Santo Domingo

Today’s bus ride takes you to the impressive Sierra Maestra. City tour in Bayamo. You will have the rest of the day at our own disposal. Maybe you would like to walk along the river Yara. Box lunch. You will be accommodated in the Villa Santo Domingo.

Day 10: Villa Santo Domingo – La Plática

The 6th hiking tour begins in Alto de Naranjo. The first part (6km) has a fairly low hiking level and leads us to the headquarters of La Plata. You will use natural paths and make our way through a charming countryside. This place is very well known in Cuban history. We will visit Fidel Castro’s headquarters from the time of the revolutionary battles, now turned into a museum. 2km further on we will arrive at the
village La Plática. The farmers around here take care of the environment of the Parque Nacional Turquino. You will get the chance to talk to them and get a better insight into their life in that village. We will have lunch there and will then continue with the second part (8km) of the walk, this time with a relatively high hiking level. We will ascend towards the forest station Aguada de Joaquín. The path is thickly surrounded by rich vegetation and we will see typical Cuban plants such as Pino de la Maestra and Majaguas. It takes us up and down the mountains (up to 1400m) where we will be rewarded with breathtaking views. In Pico Joaquín (1360m) we will have dinner and stay overnight in Parque Turquino.

Day 11: La Plática – Aquada de Joaquin

Today you begin your 7th hiking tour. We climb up past Alto del Cardero (1265m) and Pico Regino (1670m). You will reach the summit at about 10am and have a picnic break. On our descent we will walk all the way back to Aguada de Joaquin where we spend our last night in the mountains at Parque Turquino.

Day 12: Aquada de Joaquín – Pico Turquino – Playa Sevilla

The 8th hiking tour starts early again. We walk all the way back to Alto del Naranjo, where we will be picked up by jeeps and driven to the Hotel Villa Santo Domingo. We will have lunch there and the transfer will take us to the second largest city in Cuba: Santiago de Cuba. On the way, we will have the opportunity to pay a visit to the sacred shrine La Iglesia de la Caridad del Cobre.  Accommodation at Hotel Villa Gaviota in Santiago de Cuba.

Day 13: Santiago de Cuba

You will have breakfast at the Villa Gaviota. Then you will continue with a sightseeing tour in Cuba’s second largest city. You will have lunch at a restaurant in the city. The evening is at your own leisure. You will be accommodated  and have dinner at the Hotel Villa Gaviota in Santiago de Cuba.

Day 14: Santiago de Cuba - Havana

This day starts with the departure to the airport in Santiago de Cuba and a flight to Havana. You will arrive in Havana, join a sightseeing tour and have lunch. Accommodation and dinner will be at the Hotel Plaza in Habana Vieja.

Day 15: Departure

You will have breakfast and lunch at the hotel. Then the transfer will take you to the airport in the afternoon (optional).
