Day 1: Arrival in Cancun
Arrival in Cancun and transfer to your hotel in Cancun. Accommodation at the Hotel QBay.
Day 2: Cancun – Isla Mujeres – Cancun (approx. 30 km)
After a huge breakfast and a check up of the bikes you will cycle to the ferry station in order to enjoy the crossing by ferry to Isla Mujeres. At first you will cycle around the island, before you will snorkel to the world’s second largest reef and then make your way back to the ferry terminal to Cancún and then to your hotel. Accommodation at the Hotel QBay.
Day 3: Cancun - Izamal
Today the bus takes you to Izamal. The city belongs to the "Pueblos Mágicos", Mexico’s magical places. The city is also known as the "yellow city", since most of the houses are painted in yellow. During a guided city tour you will discover the sights.
Day 4: Izamal - Cuzama - Uxmal (approx. 59 km)
Today your cycling tour leads you to the authentic Yucatán. You will pass ethnic Maya villages and typical landscape, till you´ll reach Cuzama. On the terrain of an old cottage you´ll visit different gorgeous Cenotes. Enjoy a refreshing bath before the bus takes you to Uxmal. In the evening visit of the Sound and Light Show of Uxmal. Overnight stay at the Villas Arqueológicas Uxmal.
Day 5: Uxmal - Loltun - Uxmal (approx. 40 km)
Early in the morning, before the run of groups on the site, you´ll visit the archaeological site Uxmal. Afterwards we are going on to the village Oxcutscab. The colorful market with its fruits and vegetable will fascinate you. On top of several "mountains" you´ll cycle to the caves of Loltún. Continuation of the journey by bike to the archaeological site Kabah and transfer to Uxmal. Overnight stay at the Villas Arqueológicas Uxmal.
Day 6: Uxmal - Merida - Celestun
Today you will have a "biking break". Transfer by bus to the capital of Yucatan: the colonial city Mérida. During the guided city tour you will see various colonial buildings and the city’s many sights. Afterwards you keep going on to the Gulf of Mexico, to the fishing village of Celestún. Tonight you will sleep in the wonderful surroundings of the Hotel Manglares.
Day 7: Celestun (approx. 25 km)
You will be cycling through the nature protection reserve of Celestún today. During this tour, you will be observing a variety of rare bird species, such as flamingos. In the afternoon you will be relaxing on a lonely beach of this fishing village. Overnight stay at the Hotel Manglares.
Day 8: Celestun - Chichen Itza
Today you will be transferred by bus to Chichén Itzá. This archaeological site was declared UNESCO world cultural heritage. It is Yucatan’s most popular pyramid with the most visitor numbers. You will have enough time to explore the complex. By night enjoy the spectacular sound and light show. Overnight stay at the Hotel Dolores Alba Chichén Itzá.
Day 9: Chichen Itza - Valladolid
Today’s bike tour leads you from Chichén Itzá to the colonial town of Valladolid. On your way off the beaten track you will pass by many Mayan villages. In the afternoon a guided city tour takes place where you will visit the museum of Valladolid, its church and surroundings of the city besides observing beautiful wall paintings. Overnight stay at the Hotel Maria de la Luz.
Day 10: Valladolid - Coba
By bike you will cycle to Cobá. In the afternoon you visit the archaeological sight of Cobá. During the late classical époque it was probably the centre of Mayan culture in the northeast of the Yucatán-Peninsula. Overnight stay at the Villas Arqueológicas Cobá.
Day 11: Coba - Tulum
From Cobá you keep going to Tulúm. On the way you will stop at the Gran Cenote to take a refreshing bath. Accommodation in Cabañas in Tulúm.
Day 12: Sian Ka`an
From Tulúm you will be cycling to the biosphere reserve of Sian Ka’an. From a 15 meters high outlook you will enjoy a magnificent view over the nature protection reserve. During a canoe trip through the reserve you will be able to observe many domestic animals. Accommodation in Cabañas in Tulum.
Day 13: Tulum - Playa del Carmen
In the morning you visit the archaeological zone of Tulum situated at the beautiful Caribbean coast. Afterwards transfer to Playa del Carmen. Overnight stay at the Playa del Carmen Hotel by H-n-A.
Day 14: Departure
In the morning you visit the archaeological zone of Tulum situated at the beautiful Caribbean coast. Afterwards transfer to Playa del Carmen. Overnight stay at the Playa del Carmen Hotel by H-n-A.
