Yucatán Active Itinerary
Transfer to Playa del Carmen. Accommodation at the Playa del Carmen Hotel by H-n-A. Day 2: Playa del Carmen - Sian Ka´an Early in the morning you will travel to the small, idyllic village of Felipe Carillo Puerto. From there you will continue to the Muuch Kaanan Ka’ax reserve, where you’ll visit the “Sihil Noh Ha” ecological center - a visitor center dedicated to the Mayan people.You can go on short walks or a trip in a kayak in the reserve, sample the local food and learn about the Mayans. In the evening you will return to Felipe Carillo Puerto. Accommodation at the Hotel Villas Maya in Felipe Carillo Puerto. Today your tour will continue to the Maya community el Señor. From there you’ll wander for seven kilometers through the jungle to the “blue lagoon“, where you could enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal clear water. During the afternoon you’ll walk further through the beautiful jungle and see the animals of the forest. Accommodation at the Hotel Villas Maya. Today you will visit the Maya museum in Tihosuco, which can give you an insight into the wars which occurred between different casts. A short walk through the jungle will take you to Lal Cah, a former Spanish settlement. Accommodation at the Hotel Villas Maya. The program today includes a visit to the beautiful nature reserve of Sian Ka´an. The area contains unique flora and fauna for you to admire. You can also explore the reserve’s canal system by canoe; the beautiful turquoise water is truly mesmerizing. Accommodation at the Hotel Villas Maya. Before leaving Felipe Carillo Puerto today, you will go on a stroll through the local market and marvel at the variety of fruits and vegetables. You’ll then visit the Mayan community of Dziuch. In the afternoon you will cycle through the jungle to the cave of hanging snakes, where you can see countless bats. Together with our local guides you will experience the fascinating jungle in the dark, and you’ll spend the night in simple cabañas in the jungle. After breakfast you’ll observe the indigenous bird species by canoe and wander through the idyllic landscape. Accommodation in cabañas. Day 8: Francisco Madero y Yohdzonotn Chico Today you will visit more Maya villages as well as some of the unique cenotes, which are among the main attractions of the Yucatán Peninsula. Over the course of many centuries, rainwater has created hollows in the limestone here, while on its way to the Atlantic Ocean. As parts of the resultant hollows became too large their ceilings collapsed and cenotes as well as underground sinkholes were formed. Snorkeling in these cenotes is a unique and enthralling experience. Accommodation at the Hotel Villas Maya. Day 9: Centro Ceremonial Cruz Parlante - Museo Felipe Carrillo Puerto Today you will attend a typical Maya ceremony, with a shaman present, and thus experience the traditions of the Maya first hand. In the afternoon you’ll be able to admire crafts, drawings and much more from the fascinating Mayan culture, inside a museum in the city of Felipe Carillo Puerto. Accommodation at the Hotel Villas Maya. Day 10: Felipe Carrillo Puerto - Playa del Carmen You will return to Playa del Carmen after breakfast. Accommodation at the Playa del Carmen Hotel by H-n-A.
