Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Cancún
Transfer to Playa del Carmen and stay overnight at the Playa del Carmen Hotel by H-n-A
Day 2: Playa del Carmen - Tulúm - Laguna Bacalar
Transfer to Tulúm. This archaeological site is surrounded by walls on three sides, while the fourth side is open to a cliff that has a magnificent view over the Caribbean Sea. By noon you will arrive at Bacalar. Overnight stay at the Hotel Laguna Bacalar.
Day 3: Bacalar - Altun Ha - San Ignacio
Today, you’ll pass the border to Belize and visit the Maya sights of Altun Ha and the city of San Ignacio. Overnight stay is close to the border of Guatemala at the Hotel Midas.
Day 4: San Ignacio - Yaxha - Flores
Today you will drive to Guatemala, passing by the beautiful ruins of Yaxha before you continue your drive to the island city of Flores. Accommodation at the Hotel Sabana.
Day 5: Flores - Tikal - Flores
Tikal is today’s highlight as one of the most impressive and monumental places of the Maya-World. In the middle of the jungle, you can find gigantic towering temple pyramids, huge spaces and an Acropolis. Accommodation at the Hotel Sabana.
Day 6: Flores - Yaxchilan - Palenque
On the Río Usumacinta, which forms the border between Guatemala and Mexico, you will continue by boat towards Palenque. From the little town of Frontera Corozal on the Rio Usumacinta, you will keep going to Palenque. Along the way you’ll stop at the Mayan site of Yaxchilan. Accommodation at the Hotel Villas Kin-Ha.
Day 7: Palenque - Campeche
The jungle city of Palenque is one of the most beautiful Mayan cities. After this amazing visit, you’ll continue to Campeche. Accommodation at the Hotel Plaza Campeche.
Day 8: Campeche - Edzná - Mérida
The Maya site Edzná- near Campeche- is very impressive, especially due to its five-storey palace. After this, you will continue to the next highlight; the archaeological site of Uxmal. Accommodation at the Hotel Villas Arqueológicas Uxmal.
Day 9: Uxmal - Ruta Puuc - Mérida
Today you will discover the often extensive grounds of the most important Mayan sites in the "Puuc region". The fascinating Maya architecture will captivate you once again. Afterwards, you will continue on your way to Mérida. Overnight stay at the Hotel Caribe.
Day 10: Mérida
Mérida, as the capital of the Yucatán state, is both the economic and cultural center of the region. On a guided city tour, you will discover the city’s colonial wealth and experience the flair of a real Mexican city. At noon you’ll have free time to explore the city on your own. Overnight stay at the Hotel Caribe.
Day 11: Mérida - Chichen Itzá - Ek Balám - Playa del Carmen
Early in the morning you will head off to Chichén Itzá. This is one of the most famous archaeological sites in Yucatan and the only Mayan city with a strong influence of the Toltec architecture. The previously little-visited site Ek Balam is one of the most beautiful Mayan sites in the region. Finish off the day in Playa del Carmen. Accommodation at the Playa del Carmen Hotel by H-n-A.
Day 12: Playa del Carmen
Today you’ll have time to explore Playa del Carmen on your own. There is a lot to do: you may wish to go for a walk through the village, find the perfect adventure by snorkeling or diving in the beautiful Caribbean Sea, or simply relax on the beach. Accommodation at the Playa del Carmen Hotel by H-n-A.
Day 13: Playa del Carmen
Depending on your further travel plans, you will either be transferred back to Cancún airport or continue your vacation in Mexico on your own.
